Robinson Posts Career-Best 29 Points as Chargers Win 3rd Straight

Sophomore forward Deandrey Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) scored a career-high 29 points and had a double-double for the third straight game as the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team picked up its third straight victory with an 89-77 win Saturday at Madison (Wis.).
Robinson did his damage on 13-of-23 shooting and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double in the last five games. Robinson’s 29 points surpassed his previous best of 22 earlier this season at Waubonsee.
Scott Gowan (Rockford, Ill./Rockford East) added 22 points for the Chargers (5-2), which featured him knocking down 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Gowan also dished out a team-best six assists.
Freshman Carter Fayhee (Macomb, Ill./Macomb), making his first start as a Charger, added 11 points.
Sandburg took a 46-34 lead into halftime and extended its lead to 18, at 66-48, in the second half. The Chargers shot 51 percent (33 for 65) from the field in the victory.
The Wolfpack (2-4) were led by Jalen Addison’s 18 points.
AT EUREKA JV TONIGHT
Sandburg has added a game at 5:15 p.m. tonight at Eureka JV after the Chargers’ game scheduled for Friday against Knox JV was canceled.
